After years of sending out mailers to our Food Bank supporters, we have decided to transition to online communication and donations. First of all, we just want to pause to say “THANK YOU!” to those of you who have been supporters of the Community Action Agency’s North State Food Bank.
Over the past few years, we have invested money in designing informative monthly fliers. We have loved doing this, however the money spent on design, printing, and stamps would do more good if we put it directly to our mission of feeding people in need.
Your donations are critical in supporting the work we do for families who are “food insecure.” If you’ve been keeping up, you already know that 1 in every 5 families in our region suffers from food insecurity. We are confident that you will continue to support the Food Bank, even with the shift to an online donation system.
Most of us take for granted the fact that our refrigerator is full of food. Many families don't have that luxury, and instead worry about where their next meal will come from. Please consider donating today. Here's how...

NOW is a Great Time to Donate - Support Veterans
With Independence Day just around the corner, it's a perfect time to give to the North State Food Bank. At CAA of Butte County, July 4th is one of our favorite holidays. We celebrate the freedom that has been won for our country and thank our veterans for their part in securing what we enjoy daily. Unfortunately, many of our vets aren’t doing so well. Here are some of the issues our veterans are dealing with today:
- Every day over 100 homeless vets receive meals in our Food Bank’s service territory.
- 1 in 4 vets reported food insecurity within the past year.
- Nationally more than 130,000 veterans are homeless on any given night in America.
- Estimates indicate that 5,250 of our veteran neighbors are experiencing food insecurity.
At the Community Action Agency of Butte County, we believe the first place we can help is by meeting their basic needs for housing and food. Our North State Food Bank helps provide nutritious food to our local veterans, but we can’t meet all the needs without your ongoing support.
Will you partner with us to help say thank you and help our veterans find freedom from hunger this 4th of July?
Celebrate your freedom with us by helping those who helped make it possible.
We will be providing ongoing updates about what is happening with the North State Food Bank through our blog. We recommend subscribing to our Blog to have notifications sent directly to your email. You can subscribe at the top right of this page.
