Watch Aaron’s story below to learn more about how the Esplanade House helps people break the cycle of addiction and bring families together again.
Hi! My name's Aaron. I've been here at the Esplanade House two years. When I first came here, I suffered from a drug addiction. I was sent to prison and when I got out of prison I asked for a rehab. They sent me to the rehab...my son's mother was taking care of the kids and she suffers from a drug addiction and got arrested. While I was in rehab, they sent my kids out to the rehab where I was at. That was one of the hardest decisions that I've had to make, was what was best for my kids? And so, I called CSD. I had CSD detain my kids so I could work on myself, get through rehab, and then when I got out of rehab, because of the Esplanade House, I was able to integrate into programs to stay focused on me, do the parenting classes that CSD asked me to do, and within nine months I had full custody of my kids again. Really, this is a blessing for anybody that needs it, and I just wish there was availability like this other places than just Butte County.
The alcohol and drug program at the Esplanade House provides substance abuse recovery services. These include education, individual sessions, and process groups addressing addiction to alcohol, drugs, and other substances and behaviors for adults.
The program assists participants by addressing the physical, social, mental, and emotional aspects of recovery. Our objective is to recognize the individual differences among clients and ensure specific needs are addressed in keeping with each person’s unique set of circumstances.
The Esplanade house offers a safe living environment for parents and children to become stable, revamp their lives and work toward self-sufficiency.
